FORCE Technology has been appointed secretariat for a new BREF partnership working for the promotion of technological innovation to a cost efficient reduction of the environmental impact from large combustion plants.
The project is a pilot program in the Danish Environmental Protection Agency where the use of innovation partnerships within the BREF area is tested. The members of the partnership’s steering committee are Danish Energy Association, Confederation of Danish Industry (the Danish Energy Industries Federation), the Association of Danish Environmental Technology and the Environmental Protection Agency, while FORCE Technology as secretariat is responsible for the administration as well as coordinating the collection and dissemination of data, notes and comments with a point of departure in the steering committee.
The BREF LCP partnership is relevant for users and developers of Danish environmental technology as well as environmental organizations.
BREF documents are published by EU and determine what is considered best available technology within the industrial industries included in the IPPC-directive. The BREF LCP partnership thereby outlines the processes and opportunities for applying clean technologies in the industry as well as to reach sharp and accurate BAT conclusions (best available technology).
Phase one of the project runs until May 2012 while phase two runs until ultimo 2014.
