Mobile artificial nose

FORCE Technology’s department for emission reduction has recently invested in a new instrument for determination of odor both indoor and outdoor.

Nasal Ranger, which is the name of the instrument, works just like a mobile odor laboratory. It is the intention that the instrument should supplement FORCE Technology’s existing odor laboratory.

With Nasal Ranger we are able to estimate extremely low levels of odor concentrations (3 – 61 LE/m3) which makes the instrument suitable for indoor use, e.g. when unwanted odor is detected in departments or the work environment.

Moreover we will be able to offer our customers quick assistance when neighbours for instance complain about odor from their local company. In these cases Nasal Ranger is used to make an initial assessment of the smell from the surroundings. This will improve the decisionmaking in connection with an actual mapping of the odor.

Nasal Ranger is developed in the US where the use of the instrument is well documented. It is our hope that the new instrument is also accepted by Danish authorities and Danish companies.
