FORCE Technology contributes with knowledge about heat treatment of aluminium

The Association for Materials and Heat treatment (Foreningen for Materialer og Varmebehandling) holds a feature-day on 14 September at B&O in Struer (link to feature-day). FORCE Technology has been invited to give a presentation on heat treatment of aluminium.

Focus will be put on aluminium alloys which may be heat treated at high strengths. This exact type of heat treatment requires insight into aluminium alloys’ metallurgy as well as very controlled and restricted handling of process technology matters.

M.Sc. Carsten Jensen from FORCE Technology’s department for Corrosion and Metallurgy will present an overview of the metallurgical aspects of aluminium heat treatment and give examples of practical aspects in handling the heat treatment process.

Apart from aluminium heat treatment the feature-day will focus on usage, machining and surface treatment of aluminium. Every year, B&O uses tons of aluminium which is one of the reasons why their premises are the perfect place to hold an aluminium feature-day.
