First phase of the delivery of ship manoeuvring simulators to Fremantle is completed

Date: 2007-12-19

In the heart of Western Australia’s large port of Fremantle a new simulation centre is well on its way. Recently FORCE Technology has completed the first phase of the delivery covering one part task simulator with 120 degrees field of view using a projector solution.

The simulation bridge will be equipped with handles for both conventional ships and for handling of tugs. The reconfiguration of the bridge from one type of handle controls to another is very simple and flexible and can be completed within few minutes. As part of FORCE Technology's delivery an instructor and a debriefing station has been supplied along with several exercise areas and ship models. Also included in the delivery is system training which is carried out on site.

FORCE Technology delivers several ship simulators to new centre in Fremantle in Australia.

During the second phase the simulation centre will be expanded with a second bridge with a 200 degrees field of view part task simulator. The configuration of this bridge will be similar to that of the first bridge giving the user the flexibility to switch between tug and conventional ship mode on the two bridges.

Local support

The simulation centre will offer various training courses for pilots and tug masters around Australia. The centre will also offer engineering services using the highly qualified assistance from Cardno Lawson Treloar, who has many years of experience within maritime engineering services.

To offer superior support on site FORCE Technology has associated with Cardno Lawson Treloar as sub-consultant of localised support.

For many years Cardno Lawson Treloar has been using the Simflex Navigator product and thus has a profound knowledge of the product. By using Cardno Lawson Treloar, Fremantle Port can receive qualified and professional support in its own time zone when required. The agreement with Cardno Lawson Treloar will also be for the benefit of future customers in Australia.
