FORCE Technology helps the Chinese to better air quality

Date: 2008-02-14

FORCE Technology is gaining a larger part of the Chinese market of flow model jobs for flue gas cleaning at power plants. The reference list comprises 45 specific jobs worldwide, with the latest six contracts signed with China Datang Environment & Technologies during the past two months.

We have 50 years of fluid dynamics experience, which we are now using to support evolution of Chinese design that has a time lack compared to the Western world.

The scope of work comprises design work utilizing both Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and physical scale model to modify and optimise the flow in a Selective Catalythic Reduction (SCR) unit.

Using SCR technology the power plants typically cut 80-90% of the NOx emission, the NOx being a greenhouse gas and a source of smog.

Stricter environmental legislation

Chinese legislation is getting stricter these years and FORCE Technology is providing services to aid the work for a cleaner future in a country using coal as the major energy source creating heavy pollution. Emission requirements are put on both new and existing power plants and with 1-2 new coal fired plants built each week there is a huge demand for flue gas cleaning devices.

Good relations is key to success

The Chinese market is difficult to enter and one parameter to FORCE Technology’s success is good relations with local engineering companies built through several years. We can offer various services within energy and environment directly to Chinese companies and in cooperation with other Danish suppliers to markets in power engineering, process industry etc.
