FORCE Technology has recently installed a large and very powerful computer cluster for CFD calculations of complex flow problems within the three departments of Hydro and Aerodynamics, Industrial processes and SonoSteam.

With 160 GB of memory and 80 cores, the new cluster, based on the latest Intel Xeon Quad-core technology, makes FORCE Technology able to tackle the increasingly complex commercial flow problems faced by the industry today.
This significant addition to the already existing computational resources makes the total computer cluster the largest commercial flow computer cluster in Denmark.

The new cluster will support our services within analysis and optimisation of:
- Efficiency of flue gas cleaning plants
- Hydrodynamic performance of ships and offshore platforms
- Efficiency of process equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers and separators
- Aerodynamic characteristics of bridges and buildings
- Combustion processes and emissions in large and small scale furnaces.
The new computer cluster will significantly reduce the computational time allowing for a faster turnaround of projects and more complex flow studies to be studied in greater detail - all to the benefit of our customers.
Strong tradition for experimental testing and CFD
FORCE Technology has a strong tradition in using and combining experimental testing and CFD in order to efficiently provide our customers with the most trustworthy results and best possible solutions. The new computer cluster will - together with recent extensive upgrades of the experimental facilities – secure and consolidate this approach into the future.
FORCE Technology utilizes the leading viscous flow solvers such as Fluent, CFX and STAR CCM++ / Comet in our work.
