FORCE Technology opens the door to China

After a year of thorough preparatory work FORCE Technology has succeeded in coming in from the cold with China’s largest state owned energy company Sinopec.

Sinopec is in the middle of establishing a large gas field in the Sichuan province and they have a concrete problem. The gas has high hydrogen sulphide contents, exposing the pipelines to very high risks of corrosion attacks and thus potential danger of leaks and gas explosions.

FORCE Technology has many years experience in welding and corrosion.

Long-standing welding and materials expertise

FORCE Technology’s long-standing expertise in welding and corrosion made the Chinese elect the Danish company as their external consultant in this very challenging project.

FORCE Technology has initiated their work by helping Sinopec with the following challenges:

  • How to weld materials that are to transport sour gas?
  • Reviewing and commenting on documents and procedures related to welding and materials testing
  • Performing consultancy on a number of specific problems
  • Inspection of welding facilities and corrosion laboratories
  • Verification of welding procedures (ASME 9).

With this assignment FORCE Technology is really opening the door to the Chinese market, where not least the energy sector is an interesting field with enormous potential.
