FORCE Technology has worked as a consultant and supervisor for the quality of the many tonnes of steel that were used for building the DR’s new and impressive concert hall at the DR-Byen in Amager.
The cranes have been at it day and night mounting the extremely heavy steel girders used for the DR Concert Hall façade among others. Now the remaining strength is gathered to create the perfect frame for future musical adventures and events.
Focus on documentation and production
FORCE Technology has played a small but not insignificant part of the game. We have performed design review on the steel structures involved in the building process. In practice this means that we review the building contractor’s procedures and documentation for the production to check if they are satisfactory.
Then we have performed random checks of the production processes with the contractors to ensure that welds meet outlined requirements.

Mutual promises
Project manager and M. Sc. Michael Ambye from FORCE Technology relates of the process: ”The owner elected us for the task based on our extensive specialist experience within welding, materials and auditing of suppliers. However, it has not only been a question of consultancy and supervision as such, since it was greatly weighted that both the owner, the consultants and the contractor would be able to mutually solve the problems that would inevitably occur in connection with a project of such extent. And the co-operation and communication in between the various groups has worked at its optimum”.
”During the entire process the involved parties have fully trusted our assessments, which are primarily based on our extensive experience. We have worked as a sparring partner in an attempt to find the most optimal answers to the joint challenges we were presented with. And that interaction has been much appreciated” concludes Michael Ambye.
