We provide services within the following fields:
Load calculations
We perform stress analyses of welded steel structures in accordance with national and international design norms and recommendations:
- Finite elements analyses: We calculate complex welded joints with the ANSYS-programme to determine hot spot-stress concentrations.
- Strain gauge-measurements: Hot spot-variation in load overtime/strength of the various structure sections are determined via on site strain gauge-measurements and rain flow counting of the voltage spectre.
- Fatigue tests: Test of the experimental S-N-fatigue curve on the high frequency fatigue equipment/machine Vibroforte.
- Fatigue assessment: calculating the fatigue service life from the strain gauge measurements and the S-N-fatigue curve.
- Fitness for service-assessment: fracture mechanical calculation of remnant service life of a given crack size.
On-site inspection
We carry out inspection of towers on- and offshore, above the waterline and submerged. We perform examinations by use of cranes, platform, rope access or our remotely controlled magnetic wheel scanners mounted with ultrasonic probes, that run both pulse-echo and TOFT-examinations of the general condition of the towers; corrosion mapping, cracks in welds, thickness measurements etc.
Coating and corrosion protection
Corrosion preventing surface treatment– painting, hot dip galvanising and metalizing. We examine/evaluate the requirements for protection against corrosion. We provide consultancy as regards tenders and review of quotations. We perform choice of corrosion preventing surface treatment and preparation of painting specifications and quality requirements. We perform inspections prior to, during and after painting work. We work according to applicable standards and norms, especially DS/EN ISO 12944. We supply FROSIO-certified painting inspectors.
Load measurements
We carry out online surveillance of static loads in the any component of the of the structure – i.e. with strain gauge.
Lift inspections
As a notified body, FORCE Certification A/S performs unit verification and final inspections on lifts in Denmark and the rest of Europe. For lifts in Denmark we also carry out the statutory mounting inspections and periodic inspections and tests (drop tests).
Corrosion monitoring
We provide consultancy on online real time corrosion monitoring, which makes it possible to trace physical changes in the corrosion rate without visiting the turbines. We provide off-line-techniques such as e.g. weight loss coupons, on which you, after physical removal of the coupons may trace changes remotely and implement control measures. Weight loss coupons also provide a possibility of assessing corrosion attacks visually and analyse the coatings. We also provide methods for monitoring microbial induced corrosion in maritime environments.
Infrared inspection (thermography)
Infrared video cameras are applied for studying the local build up of heat in components such as e.g. blades, electric components, cable socket connections for bars, panels, switches, connecting faces and tower cable joints. This provides an overview as to where components are extraordinarily loaded and it may hinder a breakdown from occurring.
